BAY CITY, MICHIGAN
Bay City is located where the Saginaw River flows into the Saginaw Bay. Originally forests and marshland, it was ideal for travel by water. Its first ship building company started in the mid-1800s on the banks of the Saginaw River and soon Bay City became a hub for shipbuilding and lumbering.
Today Bay City has an east and west side of riverfront, the new Uptown district, historic architecture, historic districts, and Michigan’s largest antique market. Arts and Culture resources include two passenger sailing vessels: Appledore Schooner and Princess Wenonah, the Delta College Planetarium, the Bay County Historical Museum, Studio 23 The Arts Center and State Theater. gogreat.com
