ABOUT: As part of Studio 23's Art Around the City Event, artists were invited to submit their pieces. Only 50 would be selected, printed, and featured on plaques around Bay City. Michael Starch gave an artist's statement for the project: "Michael Starch has been creating welded steel art for over 45 years, primarily using an oxy-acetylene torch. He makes a variety of artworks, both three-dimensional and wall pieces. Since retiring from his career as a chemist, he has had more time for his creative activities. The inspiration for his art comes from nature as well as the world of fantasy."
