ABOUT: As part of Studio 23's Art Around the City Event, artists were invited to submit their pieces. Only 50 would be selected, printed, and featured on plaques around Bay City. Rebecca Zeiss gave an artist's statement for the project: "Rebecca Zeiss, originally a painting and drawing major, received her B.F.A. from the University of Michigan School of Art, then shifted the focus of her work to photography, earning her M.F.A. from Central Michigan University. Rebecca teaches printmaking and photography at the University of Michigan-Flint. Her work, which often uses antiquarian photographic processes, investigates collective memory and shared storytelling."
