ABOUT: As part of Studio 23's Art Around the City Event, artists were invited to submit their pieces. Only 50 would be selected, printed, and featured on plaques around Bay City. Alan Maciag gave an artist's statement for the project: "Alan Maciag received a master’s degree in art education from Central Michigan University. He retired after teaching art in the Frankenmuth School District for 32 years. “As a plein air painter, the gifts of light and nature propel me,” says Maciag. His studio is in Midland, Michigan, and he is represented by several galleries in the Midwest."
