ABOUT: As part of Studio 23's Art Around the City Event, artists were invited to submit their pieces. Only 50 would be selected, printed, and featured on plaques around Bay City. Marti Liddle-Lameti gave an artist's statement for the project: "Marti Liddle-Lameti is an internationally recognized fiber/textile artist who creates two-dimensional fiber “paintings,” as well as three-dimensional sculptures and wearable art. Her work can be seen in private and public collections, including Memorial Healthcare in Owosso, Michigan.
Liddle-Lameti was born in Detroit, studied art at Olivet College, and earned a B.F.A. at Eastern Michigan University and a master of arts in teaching at Saginaw Valley State University. She taught art and fashion design at Owosso High School and as an adjunct professor at Kendall College of Art and Design. Her current home and studio are on Sanford Lake near Midland, Michigan.
