ABOUT:  Old Town Saginaw used to be the home of a boat building enterprise; the Valley Boat & Engine Company. Newell Bernard became the head of this company at a relatively young age and under him, Valley Boat & Engine Company flourished. During this time, Newell participated in several boat races, and went on to hold a speed record for a number of years.
