ABOUT: Herbert Henry Dow was created to honor Dow's impact on science and chemistry. The piece resides in the "Founder's Garden" in the center of the former Dow Chemical Company 47 Building, the former headquarters of the company, built in 1897. The company was very hesitant to tear down the building that was once the headquarters of the company, but saw it as an opportunity to honor the legacy of its founder with the newly built "Founder's Garden".
