ABOUT: Gete’ Ookomisan means “Ancient Grandmother” in Ojibwe, and is a representation of an Anishinaabe (original people of the Great Lakes) Kwe (woman). This sculpture represents the strength, beauty, wisdom and care of not only the Anishinaabe women, but women of all backgrounds.
