Alexis Bearinger Neighborhood Bench Project
TITLE: Alexis Bearinger Neighborhood Bench Project
ARTIST: Alexis Bearinger
ABOUT: The Midland Area Community Foundation selected fourteen artists to paint twelve benches and 2 picnic tables and transform them into usable murals in a move to beautify the downtown space and give the community an artistic voice. Artist Alexis Bearinger gave an artist statement for the project, "My name is Alexis Bearinger and I’m the owner, manager, bookkeeper, designer, photographer and artist behind Cudabeara Fine Art & Photo! I started my business in 2020 during the pandemic and I’ve been full time ever since. I’ve lived in central Michigan my whole life and I’ve been an artist as long as I can remember. My specialties include acrylic & watercolor painting, portrait photography, and photo restoration, but I dabble in many different mediums and I’m always open to taking on new creative endeavors!
My bench is all about the flowers of Midland and draws reference to both the Midland Blooms project as well as Dow Gardens! I love that my hometown has always made such an effort to bring beauty to every day life, and now when I think of home I always think of flowers."
