Tour Public Art in The Great Lakes Bay Region
Working with community partners in Michigan’s Great Lakes Bay Region (specifically Bay, Midland, and Saginaw Counties), Public Art Passport serves tourists and residents alike through temporary art exhibitions in each county and at the Marshall M. Fredericks Sculpture Museum.
Shine Bright Silo Mural
Art is truly all around you!
The Shine Bright Silo Mural project came from a single idea: "To transform a large blighted silo complex into the second-largest mural in the United States." The project was crowdfunded with a goal of 50,000 USD, which it met on January 30th, 2024. The silos are to be completed by world-renowned muralist Okuda, a Spanish artist known for his vibrant, geometric, and distinctive style of painting.
Okuda brought on the help of many local artists to complete this project, including DeVaughn Collins, Susie McColgan, Jim Perkins, and John Vasquez. The artists received training before climbing in the basket and getting hands on with the staggeringly large mural, which was dedicated on June 2nd, 2024.
